John will discuss the connection between the ancient concepts of earth, sky and the world below that connects the thousands of incredible mounds in our area to both the past and the present.  The effigy mounds literally in our backyards are unique, not only because of their amazing artistic shapes, but because the concentration and variety of these mounds is not found anywhere else in the world.
